The Board of Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) has appointed Mr Kedi Ilimbit as the Company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective 17th April 2023. Chairman of the Board, Mr Jeffrey Innes said that Mr Ilimbit was appointed following an international search campaign and a thorough assessment of candidates.

“The Board looks forward to working with Kedi and the Leadership Team to ensure the continuing success of Ok Tedi and the satisfaction of all our stakeholders’ expectations,” Mr Innes said.

Kedi holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the PNG University of Technology, a Diploma in Management (Front Line Supervision), and a Graduate Diploma in Maintenance Management from Central Queensland University. Kedi joined OTML through the Graduate Development Scheme in 1995 where he started with the Purchasing & Warehouse in his first year and during his second year, he joined Mine Maintenance.

Kedi also worked with several BHP Billiton mines in Australia performing various roles as Manager Maintenance, Manager Processing and Maintenance Superintendent. In 2015, Kedi returned to OTML as Manager Mine Maintenance after working with Cliffs Natural Resources at their Koolynobbing Iron Ore operations in Western Australia as Manager Mobile Assets. Kedi has held several other senior positions with OTML as General Manager Operations Support, General Manager Asset Management, General Manager Processing.
